English name: Jade Necklace.

This plant looks very similar to the variety called "Pastel," but that's only natural since Pastel is a hybrid between this Maiotome and a closely related species. The main difference is that Maiotome has rounder leaves that grow tightly packed together. It’s said that a healthy plant looks like a plump caterpillar, with barely any stem visible at all (though the one in the photo has gotten a bit leggy!). Just be careful, as it will start to stretch quickly if it doesn't get enough sunlight.

There are some disagreements about the scientific name, but I suspect the missing 'i' in "marnierana" in the Catalog Of Life is just a typo. (Most other publications use "marieriana".)
