This adorable mini-tree is a member of the "Drosanthemum" family, known for bearing clusters of tiny bean-like beads. Compared to more representative species like @ (see photo for 'Gold') or @, its leaves are a little more flattened and sometimes their tips turn a reddish color—these are the first differences you'll notice. Another point is that while globosum grows taller as it matures, this one has a creeping habit, spreading sideways instead. In its native home among the rocky crags of South Africa's Western Cape, it survives by quietly hiding in crevices and collecting mist and morning dew instead of relying on the rare rainfall. To keep those plump, pretty leaves thriving, give it a daily spritz with a mister!
