With its deep green, sharply pointed leaves scattered with star-like spots, this plant is a hybrid of Aloe aristata A. aristata and Gasteria carinata G. carinata . It's an old hybrid, and perhaps because of that, you can still find it displayed at the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden under the name Gastrolea; however, this is the same as what's now called Gasteraloe.
