With its stony appearance, this remarkable plant might seem more like a machine or a magical gemstone than a living thing, but it's very much alive! Its habits are quite similar to Lithops and Dinteranthus, but what sets it apart is that it often forms small clusters of up to three heads. Lapidaria margaretae rests in both summer and winter, following a spring-autumn growth cycle, and produces cheerful yellow blooms in early winter. In the wild, it calls southern Namibia and the Northern Cape region of South Africa home.
