DETAIL

This hybrid shows off plump leaves dusted with classic laui-style white powder, now tinged with an unexpectedly rare and adorable shade of orange. It's a cross between Sedum clavatum S. clavatum and Echeveria laui E. laui , bred by Mateo Lichtenstein. You might think this combination would be common, but it's surprisingly unique! It has a look similar to Pachyveria 'Scheideckeri' P. 'Scheideckeri' and Echeveria 'Spotted Deer' E. 'Spotted Deer' . When I hear "Maxwell," I always think of the 17th-century theoretical physicist, since I studied electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetic waves—I'm very much a science person. By the way, in Chinese it's called "冷香 lěng xiāng" (Lengxiang), so I believe "Cold Fragrance" refers to the very same plant.
