Echeveria has long sat untouched, a taxonomic salad bowl of anything that looked the part. Recent genetic analysis is now bringing its true shape into focus. Carrilloa was floated in May 2026 alongside Balbinaea, as a kind of coming attraction. It is not formally published yet, so the name and the lineup could still change — but we are putting it up here before anyone else does.
