This is a cultivated variety of Triflorus A. triflorus , which spreads out its flat, upward-pointed triangular leaves. The name comes from the way the center of each leaf dips in, creating a "heart shape." 'Calico' refers to the cute combination, like a calico cat. The plant in the photo hasn't quite shown off its "heart shape" just yet. I'm curious to see if the shape will become more pronounced as it grows, or if there's a special trick to encouraging it—I'll be experimenting to find out!
