A selected variety of Butterfly Agave A. potatorum , its uniquely twisted reddish-brown spines set it apart from all others. The striking contrast with its blue-gray body makes this cultivar especially beautiful. Grown from seed selection of Butterfly Agave A. potatorum that bloomed in the garden of Jim Prine in Santa Barbara, California, it was handed over to San Marcos GROWERS in 2006 and released in 2016. The name "Swizzle" is inspired by the swizzle stick—a twirled stirrer used in mixing cocktails.
