Ranked alongside D. brevifolia , this is one of the smallest types of Dudleya. The leaves lie almost flat against the ground and are about the size of a pinky fingertip. Because of this, the flowers appear comparatively very large. This species lives exclusively on rocky hills covering less than a hectare in Baja California, Mexico, and is considered endangered. It seems almost entirely absent from the global horticultural trade.
