Graptoveria grows thick, triangular leaves in a muted tone, forming dense clusters of small rosettes around 4–6 cm across. As they mature, the stems may elongate vertically—if that gets in the way of your arrangement, simply prune them and use the cuttings to easily propagate new plants. This is a common and robust variety that you'll often spot even at home improvement stores, and it's known for being hardy and easy to multiply. Originally, Titubans was a hybrid bred in France and introduced from overseas, but whether the "Hakubotan" sold in Japan is exactly the same as the original Titubans (even Mr. Hanekane, who has cataloged a thousand Echeveria species, is unsure)—so there are still some questions... For the variegated form, please see Graptoveria 'Titubans' f. variegata.
