No Phacelia on Saturday but did come across a Lewisia nevadensis. Quite a surprise! A similar site to Sereno Watson's original (August 1868) collection in the East Humboldt Mountains at 9000 feet elevation. Not very many of these around, only 23 specimens in the UW Herbarium. https://t.co/xJFQwP04cm
Lewisia nevadensis. This was pretty plainly a Lewisia but was one I’ve not seen before and that I didn’t know about. Solved by just going to SEINET’s Lewisia genus page and perusing the few species thumbnails. Bingo
