The "bunny succulent" (even in English, it's called "bunny succulent") that always goes viral online—Monilaria. Did you know that this iconic look appears for only a brief moment, right at the start of autumn when the plant awakens from its dormancy? Its real form is a bit otherworldly: two long, noodle-like leaves stretch out from the end of its thick, knobby stems. But even in this unusual form, the leaves sparkle all over, covered in shimmering crystal-like grains—retaining all their cuteness. Each leaf is about 5 mm wide, but can grow up to around 10 cm long. When the leaves have stretched out so far that you can barely see anything else, they bloom with pink daisy-like flowers—at this stage, they look just like @ .
Within Monilaria, popularity is split between "obconica" @ and "moniliformis." The difference: moniliformis has strands of beads—or nearly straight—stems, while obconica's stems form a bumpy, upside-down cone. Moniliformis leaves can reach up to 10 cm, while obconica's are about 4 cm—so you might notice quite a size difference!
