This is a plant with slender, rounded leaves ranging from blue-gray to bright green, resembling P. 'Scheideckeri' or P. 'Powder Puff' . The commonly accepted theory is that its parent plants are P. bracteosum and E. gibbiflora var.metallica . It was discovered in 1874 by the same person who found E. desmetiana (Louis de Smet), giving it a history of over 100 years. Originally, it was registered as an "Echeveria that resembles Pachyphytum," and that idea still lives on in its species name today. The name "冬美人" (Winter Beauty) is probably used for the same species in China, but we can’t say for certain that they are exactly the same species...
