This popular caudiciform is loved for its striking contrast: a rugged, sturdy trunk from which hang many slender, delicate leaves adorned with sparkling bead-like droplets, topped with thin, glossy, white daisy-like flowers. In Japan, it's commonly recognized for this dynamic combination of strength and delicacy. Overseas, however, it's generally seen more as a "perennial flowering plant admired for its graceful leaves and charming blooms"—with the caudex (the thickened root) often just considered something that naturally forms underground as the plant matures. Everyone finds their own way to enjoy it! By the way, M. resurgens is actually the same species; technically, 'Mesen...' is the accepted name, with Phyllobolus considered a subgenus.
