Its origin, however, is a complete mystery. Even after searching online, all I could find were photos from a shop in Las Vegas; when I asked the supplier, they just said, “I found an interesting new variety in Korea and decided to buy it,” leaving me with absolutely no clues. The variegation isn’t stable and can disappear as the plant grows, so be careful. Once the variegation is gone, it turns into the spitting image of S. 'Jet Beads' . As it matures, it may eventually stand upright again or spill over, giving off the vibe that it could become a substantial ground cover—but keeping the variegation going that long might prove tricky.
