不可思議な文様の刻まれた、カンペキなまでに計算しつくされた球体のオブジェ。まるで古代遺跡から発掘されたオーパーツとして、どこかのギャラリーに飾られていそう。……そんな不思議な魅力を持つのが、アルゼンチンの高地にお住まいの「習志野」こと「ゲオメトリクス」。もちろんこの丸いフォルムは生きたサボテンなのでそのうち縦に伸びてきますが、またその頭頂部からポコポコとボールを生み出します。そしてある程度ボールが積み重なると、ふとした拍子にポロッと外れて地面をころころと転がっていくんです。それは決して「折れた」わけではなく、新天地を目指して旅に出る彼らなりの生存戦略。このボールのようなフォルムにそんな生き残りをかけた理由があるというのが奥深いですよね（行き着いた先で逆さまになったらどうするんだろう……）。ちなみに本当に枝が折れやすいので管理の際は注意を怠りなきよう。
