When people say “columnar cactus,” they could mean any type of upright, column-shaped cactus. But if you spot a plant labeled simply as “columnar cactus” at a shop, chances are it’s actually the Cereus repandus. This cactus has no spines, boasts a classic blue-gray body, and stands tall in a beautifully simple way. You’ll often see ones that branch out near the base, and sometimes the top is cut off to encourage interesting, more complex shapes.
