Crassula is a succulent that sprawls flat across the ground, layering broad, rounded leaves that turn a striking purple when under stress. "Platyphylla" actually means "flat leaf." This plant is native to southern to central South Africa. It's a variety of Crassula nudicaulis C. nudicaulis , and although Luderip C. nudicaulis var.herrei belongs to the same group, they only share a similar look at first glance—it's actually closer in appearance to Crassula atropurpurea var. watermeyeri C. atropurpurea var.watermeyeri . There are plenty of similar-looking cousins, but "Platyphylla" itself is extremely rare in the market. There's also a theory that the real identity of "Purple Butterfly" C. 'Purple Butterfly' is actually Platyphylla, so check that out for more details.
