Nudicaulis comes from the Latin for "bare stem." But ironically, its most iconic species feature slender leaves covered in fine fuzz. Scientifically speaking, the official variations include the Crassula celebrity known as "Herrei" C. nudicaulis var.herrei , as well as the secretly popular "Platyphylla" C. nudicaulis var.platyphylla . You might also spot the name "Hirta" C. hirta , which is currently considered just another form of nudicaulis.
