Since it's difficult to tell apart the already similar-looking variegated "Hime Shururei G. mendozae "—known as "Hime Shururei Nishiki G. mendozae f.variegata "—I ordered them both to compare and see if they're actually the same plant. After a close look, it seems very likely they're just different forms of the same species, even more so than Hime Shururei and Mirinae. There's still a slight chance Hime Shururei and Mirinae are different plants, but when it comes to the variegated type, I suspect it first appeared in one of them, then got mixed up in the gardening world and is now circulating under both names—like a game of telephone.
