Pachypodium lamerei最大で6mを超えることもある巨木パキポディウム。グラキリウスのようにボッテリとした根塊と細い枝というフォルムではなく太さは根本は太めでも全体的に均質的で、あまり枝分かれしない幹の先に大きな葉っぱを広げるので遠目にはヤシの木のよう。ただし幹は長く立派はトゲでびっしりと覆われています。
