After asking in a v knowlegeable FB group I have found that one of my cacti isn't a cacti at all but a euphorbia debilispina - looked it up and found a site which describes it as 'a dwarf perennial succulent shrublet,' which is just sheer poetry, is it not? Made my day, anyway
