I’m loving these clusters of green seed heads supported by purple peduncles on Euphorbia stygiana Santa Mariae https://t.co/4gY5USitfm
A long border against a park, the client loves having people stop and stare at the house/ garden so asked for some tall eye-catchers: Salix exigua (South USA/Mexico), Aralia foliosa (Manipur), Euphorbia stygiana (Azores), Pseudopanax ‘Chainsaw’ (originalLy NZ, but this thing ♂️) https://t.co/EDFbshOo0g
@LondnCottgeGrdn x pasteurii is different, it has deeper coloured burgundy flowers. This cultivar is a gem. Euphorbia mellifera is now unfortunately named Euphorbia stygiana.
@finggardener I raised some of these from HPS seeds. Got a very tall and upright growing one that is close to Euphorbia stygiana santamariae. Open habit. It's a veritable tree. In a client's garden & as I haven't been able to go for a year am sure it'll be gone now. Prefer ones like yours.
