The more traditional Christmas cactus is Schlumbergera x buckleyi, which flowers once nearer Christmas. It's not sold as much these days. #HouseplantHour

@helpmab0ab The original Christmas cactuses (Schlumbergera bridgesii) have smooth, round edges while Thanksgiving cacti (Schlumbergera truncata) have pointy, jagged ones. Might not be a Christmas cactus? Does it normally wait tlll Christmas? Mine used to flower at weird times.
