This time, it’s simply an announcement. Ever since its release, the "AS Model LED Bulb"—praised for its industry-leading cost performance—has been a hit. Now, we’re adding two new versions: the "White Model" and a "Warm Light Model." The White Model is, for now, a limited edition (if there’s enough demand, we might sneak it back into production from time to time when we reorder the regular version…). This page is a quick introduction to these new faces!
^ Apologies for sharing this article while it’s still under "rushed construction"—we’ll be updating it as we go!
Most plant LED bulbs on the market are black, so it’s easy to think of “plant LEDs = black.” Traditionally, though, regular light bulbs have always been white or at least light in color. Black bulbs can stand out awkwardly in lighting fixtures—and honestly, early bulbs probably weren’t painted at all, hence the standard white.
Fast forward to today: giant plant LEDs are often hung openly, and their cool look has made black versions popular. But in terms of home décor, black can be a bit loud and sometimes clashes. Most rooms are light-colored, so white fixtures blend in much better. Why aren’t there more white models? Exactly! When you find yourself asking that, it’s time to special order one. That’s how we ended up with this White Model.
While I was at it, I swapped out the spotlights in our living room for these AS Models. Up to now, we’d been using incandescent spotlights (our last remaining ones!), so it was the perfect chance to switch to LED. Since the 10W version is about as bright as a 100W traditional bulb, three of them together really light up the room—almost too much!
After all, the White Model just fits better with most interiors.
I went back and took some fresh luminance measurements, turning them into comparison charts.
Overall, the AR Model actually outperforms the AS Model (the AR is still in high demand despite being less cost-effective), but personally I’m a big fan of the AS Model. Why? Well, back when the AR Model launched, we had to price it extra low to stay competitive against existing products. In other words, we can’t keep offering it at the current price, so it’ll need a price increase next time (sweat). That means the AS Model is really the one with unbeatable cost performance.

The new models—White Model included—will officially launch tomorrow, the 24th, at 8pm. As always, we've stocked up plenty—enough to last about three months—so take your time and have a look! ★
