PUKUBOOK Succulent picture book

2025.4.4 Restarting at Ibaraki Sky Palette! Highlights from the Second 'Kyoto Midori no Marche' in Ibaraki—Event Recap

When you hear the name, you might picture a stylish plant event—but once you step inside, "Kyoto Midori no Marche" is a true succulent plant market, through and through.

For this renewed event, the main venue has moved from "Dillipa Kyoto" to the much more open-air "Ibaraki Sky Palette." This shift transforms the market into a more free-spirited, sophisticated gathering under the wide, bright sky. For PUKUBOOK, this Marche was the site of our first market booth last time, so in this follow-up, we'll once again deliver the real vibe and succulent energy from the event through plenty of photos.

What is "Kyoto Midori no Marche"?

In Spring 2025, the succulent plant event "Kyoto Midori no Marche" returns for its second edition! This time, it’s moving from Dillipa Kyoto to the new, more spacious Ibaraki Sky Palette. The open, sunlit venue brings a fresh and refined feel to the event.

Uniquely, this edition runs over two days and features completely different vendors each day—an unusual approach for a plant market. Since the lineup changes daily, attending back-to-back could feel like two totally different events!

Alongside professional plant shops, you'll find plenty of hobbyists with booths. There’s a range of price points, from affordable finds all the way to rare succulents you’ll barely see elsewhere—making it a treasure trove of discoveries. Some vendors appear exclusively at this market, making it a must for true succulent fans.

Recently, the market has broadened into greenery genres like staghorn ferns and Aglaonema, offering even more plant discoveries to enjoy.

Please note that this time’s vendor lineup will differ from last time, and some shops may not return for the next edition.

Key Details: Dates, Time, and Venue

- Dates: April 19 (Sat) & 20 (Sun), 2025
- Venue: Ibaraki Sky Palette (Ibaraki City, Osaka)

Getting to the Venue

Just a minute's walk from the East Exit of JR Ibaraki Station! Since it’s directly connected to the station, it’s super convenient by train.

If you’re coming by car, the Aeon Mall Ibaraki is a 7–8 minute walk and offers 2 hours of free parking (plus another 2 hours free with purchases over ¥2,000). The Hankyu Oasis and Yamaya parking lots, a few minutes’ walk away, give 1 hour free. There are many parking options nearby—with average rates of 400–600 yen per hour, or 800–1,000 yen for 2 hours.

Family-Friendly Eats & New Local Fun

Since we’re here, let’s highlight some great stops around Ibaraki Station. As a neighbor from Takatsuki City, I visit Ibaraki often—maybe not my backyard, but close! I have plenty of spots to recommend.

Cafe V8

"Cafe V8" is a super popular café-restaurant right near the venue. There’s usually a line at lunchtime, and once you taste the food, you’ll see why. It’s simply delicious. Of course there’s more to love—plentiful portions, a great range of Japanese and Western dishes, retro-chic meets modern styling—but the taste really leaves you speechless. Seriously. Try to stop by during the market—you may see a line at lunch, but the tables turn over quickly, so the wait’s manageable.

Aeon Mall Ibaraki Feedy Diner & Arcade

Don’t underestimate the local Aeon Mall! Especially check out "Feedy Diner & Arcade"—an American diner-style burger restaurant combined with the area’s largest amusement arcade. And don’t think you’ll find this setup in Aeon Malls nationwide—this is the only one like it in the country, exclusively here in Ibaraki! Pair it with the market for an action-packed day. Of course, don’t forget to use the coin lockers for your plants while you play.

In Summary

Haruka-san will not be present at the booth due to scheduling conflicts. Thank you for understanding.

I personally adore the "Kyoto Midori no Marche"—there are always hidden gems and I find myself coming back every time. PUKUBOOK made its debut here, and we hope to participate in future editions as well. Offline markets like this are a rare treat, and I look forward to chatting with lots of plant fans in person at the venue.

Whether you’re a local or coming from afar, this is the perfect event to brighten up your spring. Bring the whole family and enjoy!
