PUKUBOOK Succulent picture book

2026.2.13 Gift These Chocolate & Sweet-Inspired Succulents for Valentine's Day! 2026 Edition

Following the trends in the world of succulents every day, I've noticed something interesting: Have you noticed how many succulents have names that sound like delicious desserts? In 2026, this trend is only getting stronger! And since Valentine's Day is coming up next week, I've rounded up a collection of these "sweet-themed succulents" for you.

Taking a peek at recent Valentine's Day trends, it turns out that when people are asked "Who will you give a gift to?" the number one answer is actually... themselves! While it's lovely to pick something out for someone else, you deserve to spoil yourself on a special day, too. Of course, chocolate is always a classic, but this year, why not treat yourself to a truly unique plant with a sweet-sounding name? Go ahead and pick out a "Valentine's Succulent"—one that's just for you and might just last a lifetime.

Chocolate

First up is the undeniable classic: "chocolate." Just two years ago, Echeverias with "chocolate" names were rare, but now you'll find a delicious array.

Chocolate Mousse With its mouthwatering name and chocolatey look, it ranks top among Chocoverias.
Dark Chocolate Rich and bittersweet. Given a little time and care, it'll become even more chocolate-like.
Echeveria Ice Chocolate Released in 2025, this "chocolate" got rave reviews. It may not be the ultimate in chocolate-looks, but...
Chocolate Grace
Echeveria Chocolate Nishiki Officially, it’s likely called "Lenopetalum Chocolate and Strawberry"—even more delicious! With soft, glossy, whipped-cream-like streaks of pink and choco-brown, it's truly tempting.

Surprisingly, "chocolate" names aren’t all that common among Echeverias—they actually show up more often in other common or classic succulent varieties. Maybe naming succulents after chocolatey hues was all the rage in the past, but it's a bit less trendy now (sweat) .

Haworthia 'Cholate'
Aeonium 'Chocolate Tip'
Kalanchoe tomentosa 'Chocolate Soldier'
Sempervivum 'Bitter Chocolate'
Cotyledon 'Chocolate Fingers'

There are plenty more to be found if you look around!

Echeveria 'Choco Rose'
Echeveria 'Chocola'
Echeveria 'Hot Chocolate'
Echeveria 'Cacao Tips'

Strawberry

Sticking with the chocolate and strawberry theme—it's the classic shortcake combo! Whether blended into a shake or paired with chocolate, strawberries are the king of sweet fruits.

Strawberry Crispy This one might just top the charts for both cuteness and yum factor.
Echeveria 'Strawberry Ice' Variegated A variegated "Strawberry Ice," now available!
Strawberry Almond
Echeveria 'Strawberry Milkshake'
Echeveria 'Strawberry Ice'
Echeveria 'Ichigo Milk Daifuku'

Ice Cream

When it comes to ice cream-themed succulents, "Raspberry Ice" takes the lead. It's inspired lots of hybrids and spin-offs in the "~Ice" category.

Echeveria 'Raspberry Ice'
Echeveria 'Dark Ice'
Graptoveria 'Coconut Ice'
Echeveria 'Ice Cream'

Candy

When you think of cute sweets, "candy" plants come to mind! These often have a candy vibe and are more commonly found in Pachyphytum and Crassula than Echeveria.

Echeveria 'Peach Candy'
Echeveria 'Milk Candy'
Pachyveria 'Sweet Candy'
Crassula rubricaulis 'Candy Cane' "Candy canes" are the classic, cane-shaped treats you see on Christmas trees.

Cake

What about "cake," the king of sweets? Surprisingly, not many succulents go by this name, but you see it more often among recent hybrids. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot more in the future!

Echeveria 'Cheese Cake'
Echeveria 'Matcha Cake'
Echeveria 'Ichigoroll'
Echeveria 'Ichigo Rollcake'

Cherry

Cherry Bonbon An original hybrid by Bonobono, featuring irresistibly cute names that have surged in popularity lately ( I've got one, but you’ll have to wait a bit for pics... )
Echeveria 'Cherry Whip' I just happened to come across this Echeveria with such a name, but there’s no info at all—it's a bit of a mystery. It looks a lot like E. 'Champagne.'
Echeveria 'Cherry Raspberry Ice' Although it's called "Cherry," the meaning is more like "Cherry Blossom" = sakura.
Manfreda undulata 'Cherry Chocolate Chip'
Echeveria 'Cherries'

Peach

Echeveria 'Hakutou Daifuku' Eternal Succulent's "Daifuku series" features lots of hybrids with "~Daifuku" in the name, but it’s still unclear if "Hakutou Daifuku" is one of them...
Echeveria 'Suimitsutou' In Japan, juicy white peaches are called "Hakutou," but in some countries they're known as "Suimitsutou." It's a fitting name for a succulent overflowing with juiciness.
Echeveria 'Peaches and Cream'

Other

Echeveria 'Cream Pudding'
Echeveria 'Cream Latte'
Echeveria 'Chou a la Creme'
Echeveria 'Bitter Sweet'

In Closing & A Little Extra

This time, I prioritized compiling succulents by their names, so sorry there aren’t a lot of photos yet! I’ve managed to collect a few new ones just for this special feature and hope to fill in all the rest for you soon.

By the way, I tried searching with all sorts of sweets- and candy-related keywords for this post, but, curiously, "biscuit" and "cookie" never came up at all! Maybe it's because the dry, crumbly texture (not to say it in a mean way) of baked treats just doesn’t suit the plump, glossy look of succulents. On the flip side, if you ever manage to create a hybrid that fits that image, let me just say: "The field of baked-goods-themed names is wide open for you!" (haha)
