This is the white-margined type of Potatorum A. potatorum . The central spines are long, thin, and black, while the outer spines are smaller, giving it an overall look that's actually pretty similar to Kisshoten A. parryi 'Kisshoten' . When first introduced to Japan, what was called "White Edge" was later officially named "Ice Cream." But here, "Ice Cream" isn't the dessert—it's actually "Eye Scream," meaning something like "an eye screaming!" It might just be a playful American pun.
