This is a selected specimen of A. titanota that is characterized by the near absence of fierce-looking spines, which are otherwise prevalent among typical Agave titanota, instead displaying fine, linear markings along the leaf edges. The leaves themselves are rounded, short, and notably plump. This chubby appearance tends to manifest even from the juvenile stage, making such individuals relatively easy to distinguish. Hybrid forms like A. titanota 'Jaguarnaut Hybrid' are also in circulation, so those plants that are not hybrids are referred to as "purebloods" (the term "pureblood" was coined by Mr. Coyote). "Juggernaut" actually originates from the name of a Hindu deity, and in English it suggests an "unstoppable gigantic force" or "overwhelming destructive power" (it apparently has nothing to do with either "jaguar" or "note"). This might be why the name was also chosen for a character in Marvel Comics' X-MEN.
