A cultivated variety of A. kerchovei that is also known as the "Red Agave." When exposed to cold and strong sunlight, the plant turns a vivid, striking red. While regular A. kerchovei can develop a reddish tint, this variety's coloring is on another level. Even as it grows larger, the entire plant remains dramatically red—it's truly impactful! Huajuapan is a place name in Mexico. It's a bit tricky to pronounce: in Spanish it's "Huajuapan" (said like "Wah-hwah-pahn"), and in English it sounds more like "Hwah-hwah-pahn." (In katakana, you'll find versions like "Fuyaanpan" and "Wafuanpan," with spellings that tend to vary().)
