Although it's often called the variegated margined form of Agave potatorum 'Baby Teeth', its origins are actually unclear. It could be that 'Baby Teeth' is a form where the variegation disappeared, or perhaps it might be a completely different variety that just looks similar. The small, densely-packed spines give it a unique character, and the red-margined appearance sets it apart distinctly from types like A. potatorum 'Kisshoukan' .
