PUKUBOOK Succulent picture book

AGAVACEAE Agave titanota 'Saber-toothed Tiger'

Also Known As JA セイバートゥース JA サーベルタイガー

This cultivar is a strongly contrasted white-centered type that emerged from Agave titanota, and interestingly, its variegation is the reverse of A. titanota 'Snaggle Tooth' . Because of its pronounced teeth, it was named 'Saber-toothed Tiger'—which is 'サーベルタイガー' in Japanese. There’s a feeling that the name pronounced directly in English, 'Saber-tooth,' could end up being widely used too. It also closely resembles A. titanota 'No.1 Mediopicta Alba' , so I'm curious to see what differences will show as they mature. The photo is published with permission from the Plants Delight Nursery blog. It appears this cultivar was originally bred at Walters Garden in Michigan.
