At first glance, this may look just like a tree aloe, but it's actually a rare species: Aloe elgonica, native to elevations of 2,000–2,500 meters in the Elgon mountain range on the border of Kenya and Uganda. Its key features are its large, rugged spines running along the leaf edges and the pinkish blush the leaves develop when exposed to plenty of sunlight.
