The original "Rauhii," a name you may have heard but is actually rarely seen and mysterious in the marketplace. Unlike many Kelly Griffin hybrids that tend to have pronounced vertical ridges, this one features fine, speckled patterns running along the length of its leaves, giving it a fresh and charming look. When exposed to cold or strong sun, its leaves take on a subtle orange tint. The plant known as A. rauhii 'Snow Flake' appears to be the same as this one. Its scientific name honors the German botanist Werner Rauh. You might see it called "laui" quite often because the name sounds similar, but the spelling is different: that one is laui. If you use the names correctly, you'll come across as more knowledgeable!
