A prestigious aloe that graced the cover for succulents in BRUTUS's "Bizarre Plants" special feature. Although it's a distichous-type plant like Gasteria—producing its leaves in two alternating rows—if you give it too much water, the leaves will unfortunately start to curl ((and sadly, curled suprafoliata have no recognized value in horticulture...)). Once the plant has grown to a certain size, it's typical among enthusiasts to cut off watering completely, allowing the lower leaves to dry up, and raise it into a dense, compact cluster.

@acherontiadex I've ordered an Aloe suprafoliata, should arrive this week. Plus about 7 other succulents!
@acherontiadex here's the Aloe suprafoliata. Not looking very-book-like yet. I'm going to keep it outside for summer so that should speed up its growth. https://t.co/IGA4XUxaeV
