This is a variation of Astrophytum’s popular species “Ryūhōgyoku” (Myriostigma), distinguished by the absence of white spots and its eye-catching solid green body. The Japanese name officially combines “hekiruri” (azure green) and “ryūhōgyoku,” recognizing its beautiful body color, and it’s also affectionately known by the nickname “Hekiran.” There’s also a variegated version, A. myriostigma var.nudum f.variegata . Just as a side note: in general, the color “hekiruri” actually refers to a more blue-tinted lapis lazuli, not a greenish blue (see: here).

https://t.co/gL0h7mE5Fo
