A superior-selected variety of Bishop's Cap Cactus. Its distinctive features include especially large white spots that make the cactus appear almost pure white from a distance, as well as unique V-shaped markings along the edges. Originally bred in Okayama around 1975, this horticultural cultivar is named after its breeder and known as "Onzuka Bishop's Cap". It's extremely well-known and widely available, so even if someone simply refers to "Onzuka Ranpo", the appearance can actually vary widely in terms of color, pattern, and shape—meaning a keen sense of aesthetics is important when choosing one.
