This is a variegated cultivar of fire festival whose leaves develop vertical stripes and an apple-like coloration—hence the name. The more apple-like its appearance, the more desirable the variety is considered. However, even on the same plant, it's surprisingly tricky to get those perfect apple patterns, and quite often, the leaves just look like an ordinary fire festival instead. It's always a bit of a gamble!
