This popular, easy-to-grow succulent is known for its glossy, sharply pointed leaves that spread out in a cross shape. In summer, its foliage is a fresh lime green, but in winter, it transforms into a strikingly bright red—making it a real eye-catcher all year round! The leaves spread out to about 10cm, with stems stacking up to 10–15cm tall. Once it reaches its maximum height, the stem will lean sideways, spreading out like a vine and sending up new shoots from the sides to gradually form a lush clump. Its growth rate is among the fastest in the succulent world. Botanically speaking, it is considered a variation of C. capitella , which is similar to C. tabularis , but the closely related C. fusca actually resembles it even more. Variegated types include C. capitella 'Camp Fire' f.variegata and C. capitella 'Ringo' , among others.
