This is a unique-looking plant that seems to be made up of countless thin green branches. In autumn, the whole plant turns vibrant shades of red and yellow, making it look exactly like coral. It's larger than you might expect—under good conditions, it can grow taller than a person. So, rather than a typical succulent, it's great as a foliage plant or for adding character to your garden (though keep in mind it's not fond of winter cold...). If you cut a branch, it exudes a white sap—hence the name "Milk Bush"—but be careful, as the sap is toxic. It looks similar to Rhipsalis (for example R. cereuscula ), but Rhipsalis belongs to the true cactus group, prefers shade, and usually grows as a trailing plant. In contrast, this species hails from the relatively rainy forested regions of Central Africa, where it can grow into a giant tree over 5 meters tall (sometimes even reaching 10 meters!).
