You might be surprised and think, “I’ve never even heard of Jovibarba before!” Among the relatively well-known and commonly seen types of Jovibarba, 'Olympic' stands out for its popularity. Its name probably comes from its clusters of spiky red leaves, which grow in a rounded form and are reminiscent of an “Olympic flame.” In spring, it takes on a glossy light-green color, bursting with a lively energy. By the way, from a scientific perspective, the genus Jovibarba has sometimes been grouped with, and sometimes separated from, the genus Sempervivum. That just goes to show how much these plants resemble each other, doesn’t it?
