This is a variegated form of O. monacantha —or more precisely, a variegated @—showcasing the fascinating traits typical of monstrose cacti. Its lumpy, rugged shape seems to break apart in clumps, frequently producing numerous offsets, while the unpredictable, cream-colored marbling looks just like tie-dye. Even though it grows slowly and might seem rare, you’ll sometimes spot this popular plant even at 100-yen shops.
