With its round leaves bunched together like a bouquet and glowing fluorescent pink edges, this little plant truly lives up to its magically cute name. In terms of color, it's similar to S. spurium 'Tricolor' and K. 'Poelln' , and size-wise, it's right between the two. Tanaka Farm in Kagoshima registered this variety as "Hana Mysteria," while "Magical Cutie" is its product name. You'll often see the scientific name given as P. oleracea 'Magical Cutie' because most common portulacas (purslane) are P. oleracea , but there's also an opinion that the correct classification should be the P. umbraticola lineage.
