This Aeonium is prized for its vivid red-purple, glossy, metallic leaves that make it truly eye-catching. With its glamorous and impressive appearance, it’s easy to see why this is considered a premium variety—one stem can typically cost around 5,000 yen. In Japan, the species known as A. arboreum is called “San Simon”(perhaps only in Japan…) and this looks to be its variegated-edged type. The original breeder is a Japanese enthusiast. Unusually for a succulent, it is officially registered as a cultivar, meaning propagation without permission is not allowed. Please be aware of this rule.
