DETAIL

A variegated form of A. titanota . In fact, there are many types, with differences in the patterns of variegation and even the original varieties used as parents, so some distinct types are given unique names. Usually, when people simply refer to "Chitanota Nishiki" (variegated titanota), they mean the variegated type with faint, border-like markings shown in the main photo, known as "Ganryu Nishiki." Incidentally, "aureo marginata" is Latin for "yellow-edged variegation," which likely refers to the same type.( ).

FEATURES/ORIGINFeatures/Origin

Individual from my collection (May 2021). The variegation is hardly visible, but the leaves are short, thick, and strikingly rugged.
Second plant in my care (June 2022). This one is enduring even harsher conditions and looks quite rough. Looking forward to how it develops!
The second plant nearly two years later (April 2024). Despite barely any attention, it's grown well.
The result of subjecting it to extremely intense sunlight and literally no water for 8–9 months. The fact that it's still alive is honestly amazing!
