The plant that everyone recognizes as almost identical to E. obesa ((scientifically, it's considered a subspecies of obesa)). While there are various theories about how to tell them apart—and no conclusive answer—one thing most agree on is that, unlike obesa, which tends to grow taller, this one stays more rounded and expands outward. It also stays quite short, reaching only about 6–8 cm in height, with a diameter of around 8–10 cm. Within what are often simply called "Symmetrica," you'll actually find a variety of types: single-heads, clusters, and the "popping with pups" type E. obesa ssp.symmetrica 'Prolifera' .
