「パキポディウム最大級」と言われるくらい巨木になるパキポディウム。わりと古くから知られている品種で、各地の植物園でもよく見かけます。そのパネルには「鬼に金棒」と古風な名前が書いてありますが最近は学名の通り「ルテンベルギアナム」と呼ばれることが多いみたい。
