The classic "plump body with slender pipe-like branches" image of Pachypodium is actually quite rare outside of Gracilius; in fact, it's this 'Hakubajo' (Pachypodium lealii ssp. saundersii) that stands as the hidden rival in the "hard-to-find chubby-and-skinny pipe" category. Compared to Gracilius, its spines are longer and sharper, and its branches are finer, more rugged, and have a wild appearance. A unique feature is that it often grows leaves along its branches too. If you’re chasing that bold contrast between chunky bodies and slender arms, then @ definitely deserves a nomination.
