Its blue-gray leaves glow with a pale, frosty sheen, smooth to the touch and edged with a neon orange glow, while the whole rosette has a subtle, undulating wave that gives it a striking yet mysterious charm. …But, despite all this, the origin of this stunning variety remains a complete mystery—even internet searches turn up nothing at all. It closely resembles Agave 'Blue Glow' A. 'Blue Glow' , Agave ocahui A. ocahui , and Agave 'Blue Ember' A. 'Blue Ember' , but its leaves are even thinner and the rosette appears more flat and spread out. There's also a resemblance to Agave romanii 'Shadow Dancer' A. romanii 'Shadow Dancer' , but the thickness, inward-curving shape, and coloring are all different. It was labeled as 'Blue Wave' at a specialty shop, but for Agave, 'Blue Wave' usually refers to either Agave 'Blue Wave' A. 'Blue Wave' or Agave gypsophila A. gypsophila . Its true identity is still unknown, but with its beautiful and captivating look, I hope it becomes more widely known and loved.
