With its adorably frilled and curled leaves, this Pachypodium is just bursting with charm. Rather than stretching out its branches, it grows thick, spiny stems that are covered head to toe in prickles—only the very tips unfurl those cute leaves and flowers. If you just looked at its silhouette, you might mistake it for a cactus! While most Pachypodium species hail from Madagascar, this unique character calls northern Cape Province in South Africa and Namibia its home.
